At one point I was against solitude. I use to think it was strange to see people out by themselves.  I use to feel bad when I saw someone sitting at a restaurant alone.  Whenever I saw someone out to eat by themselves, I thought “This person is probably weird, or their social life sucks.

Solitude is essential in our lives.

As I got older I learned  that it is nothing wrong with being alone. However a lot of people are afraid of being alone.  All in all Solitude helps you gain more clarity within yourself and the world around you. When you engage in solitude you acheive a healthier lifestyle. As humans we are conditioned to be around people and this causes us to include people in every decision that we make. In reality, we include people to be a part of things that we need to do on our own.

At times we allow this habit to hold us back from what we need to do.

This happens so often that most people don’t even realize it. How many times have you told yourself that you want to go to the gym and decided not to go because you didn’t want to go to the gym without your gym partner? Did you ever stop and think of all the opportunities you turned down because you didn’t want to be separated from your family and friends?

If you have a goal that you want to reach, you should be able to reach it even if it causes you to be by yourself. It shouldn’t matter if your gym partner cancels on you.  If you want to get fit, then should go to the gym regardless.  In order to explore new opportunities you have to accept the fact that you are going to have to explore some of those opportunities alone.

 

You have to learn how to enjoy your own company.

Everyone needs time to be in their own space to relax and gain clarity. When you spend time alone you are able to get in touch with your thoughts and emotions better. It’s hard to  learn about yourself when rely on people to tell you how to think. Solitude forces you to think and figure things out with yourself. Those aspects will bring you more abundance and success in different areas of your life You will no longer make your decisions to please others.

 

Your relationships and friendships we be a lot happier once you embrace solitude.

A lot of the times we tend to tolerate people that’s not good for us. We do this out of fear of being alone. In the end it is not worth it.
